NEOC [GERMANIKOC], KY, bare head of Britannicus right / AN above, confronted busts of Antonia and Octavia, [OKTA] below. RPC I 2248; SNG France -; BMC Mysia -. Fine, emerald green patina. Extremely rare. ($2000) The name "New (or young) Germanicus" dates this rare coin to before 43 AD, when Claudius' son was named Britannicus after his father's conquest of Britain. On some of these coins the names of his daughters are reversed, with OKTA being above the portraits.
